Programme outline (Minor Research Project)

Students are free to choose the subject for their Minor Research Project from any of the Biomedical Sciences Programmes within the P-profile, or to take the minor course 'Fundamentals in Business and Economics' in the M-profile, depending on their interests and career ambitions.

Minor Research Projects extend over a period of about 6 months, during which the students work on a research subject of their choice under the guidance of a experienced graduate student or post-doc. Of this period, 4 weeks are reserved for the production of a written report on the practical work performed by the student. An oral examination on the theoretical background of the minor research project may be required. Selected textbook chapters and published papers in high ranking international journals will generally constitute the study material for this examination.

Students of all Biomedical Sciences Programmes may enroll in a Minor Research Project with any of the research groups taking part in the 'Cancer Genomics and Developmental Biology' Programme. The Minor Project may also be worked on in external institutes in The Netherlands or abroad.
