The 2011 CGDB PhD student Prize was awarded to Tineke Lenstra of the Holstege group. She received the Award from CGBD seminar committee chair Wouter de Laat.

Every two years the Utrecht Graduate School of Life Sciences nominates three courses for the 'Best Master Course Award', based on students evaluation scores. Of these three, the master students select the winner.

For the '2011 Award' all three nominated courses were coordinated by group leaders of the Cancer Genomics & Developmental Biology program:

• "Digital Pictures: Data Integrity and Display" by Tobias Dansen (award winner)
• "Chromosome Separation, Aneuploidy and Cancer" by Geert Kops and Susanne Lens (Medical Oncology)
• "Biomedical Discoveries with DNA Micro Arrays" by Frank Holstege
