General research focus: Developmental control of cell division

Our research focuses on the regulatory pathways that bring about developmental control of cell division. In one project, we are studying the regulation of mitotic spindle function in asymmetric divisions that generate daughter cells with different fates. In a second, we are investigating the mechanisms that determine whether cells enter into or withdraw from the division cycle during development, and how terminal differentiation overcomes the ability to divide.
